WOWEE ONE WEEK OF 2009 ALREADYYYY.

Celebrated Yinghao's birthday last night at his place and OMGGGG it was sucha disaster. The celebration itself was okay but the process of getting there OMGGG. Dillydallied after service and went to Levis so Cherina Yvn & Ben could get their jeans and by the time we reached Marina to meet up with the rest it was 4. We were supposed to have lunch at Seoul, then changed to Kenny Rogers and eventually ended up at the foodcourt. hahaha. its a whole new adventure going out with the kids. LOL. And after that guess where we ended up at? THE ARCADE. HAHAHH. OH AM GEEEE srsly theyre super funny!! theres this brashness about them that sometimes drives me up the wall but theyre a whole bunch of fun :) even Clarence did the parapara thingy hahaha hes so sporting!!!

i decided to stay at home today to help out with the mail (again. i dunno why my parents have soooo much maiiiillllll) and watch the final ep of lil nyonya. ive been so tired zooming around everywhere meeting people. i slept at 1am and woke up at 11am today hahaha. ten solid hours YAY ME. and my schedule is so messed up. heh. im so sorry nazeeyayayaya :/

thats what came to my mind during worship this week. that my lamp for Jesus will last throughout the year and not die out somewhere in the middle. and that it will shine brighter than before!!

and i saw vision of a flame, igniting others around it. but i know that before i can be that flame that ignites the rest, i myself have to shine and be on fire first.

when ps tony mentioned how some people ask God to bless them with a job and they in turn allow this job to rob them of their attention to God, i kinda thought of us. amidst all the fun that we're having, new bonds that we are forging, new found friends God has blessed us with.. i hope that we too will use these relationships to encourage and spur each other on, to grow together as a ministry, and not be so caught up in all the fun that we have no time for Him.

because if theres anything i have learnt this past 2 weeks, its that if God can give, He can also take away.

yeah, and thats what joel hanshen and yuhang gave the 3ofus for christmas -.- and notice how PERKY is spelt PURKIE? hahaha. THE THREE (__________) MUSKETEERS.

I feel like an owl now. I slept at 6am and i think its gonna happen to me again today. Maybe cos im still recovering from the shock of Nat's absence. Seriously, the room feels so empty now. Poor woman got her flight delayed. Supposed to reach Qatar at 530am she only reached at like 2pm or something.

Spent NYE at Novena looking for sticker printers, scouting for her pork and sauces at town, applied for a chaperone at Paragon, and then a short break at Massimo and Zara. Then the rest of NYE was spent packing packing packing. Had to tape her stashes of pork to death omggg. Endless wrapping and taping. And stuffed ourselves silly (well, mostly her) with more Singapore food. At the airport her luggage was 8kg overweight (30+KG OF FOOD and 5KG of clothes) and by some luck (and a whole lotta skill hahaha) she managed to pull it off. Then ate some more -.- and off she went!

Tues met Naz and Hw at Gardens for dinner. Real nice catching up with them :) then Nat walked over from her BBQ at her friends place to meet us & we all walked to HW’s place and he drove us all home. Except Nat left all the stuff we painstakingly shopped for (to bring back to Doha) at her friends place!!!! We were already at the doorstep of our house and then we realised. So madly rushed to call HW to drive us back to Gardens hahaha shizzle. merci beaucoup

Dustin made pasta & brought some gyozas his mum made. Lester baked us a Shepherd's Pie. Ivy was in charge of drinks. Shiva, Moon and I were in charge of dessert which we attempted to make after dinner and look what happened:

After failed attempts to melt chocolate, we decided to just dump it all over a pack of marshmallows and bake them in the oven :D

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

I got saboed on sat to give a testimony for 2008, something I have been meaning to do since forever but just never had the guts to. So i guess its not that bad to get saboed. I need a kick in the butt sometimes. HAHA. Just that I didnt prepare, so I wasnt able to give a proper testimony. Shizzlepoppp.

Uncle Edward said Thanksgiving is about thanking God for the things He has given us and things we have asked for and did not receive. My list has another alternative- receiving what I did not ask for (or even want, at that point in time). I remember WY saying that sometimes when God doesnt grant us something, it is only because He has something better in store for us. And looking back, I feel that indeed when God allows certain things to happen, He knows exactly what He is doing. Even though we may have doubts in our minds all these while. Somehow, everything seems to slowly fall in place now, and we slowly see His plans forming into a more coherent picture. Something more comprehensible than before, but still not complete. I'm excited to see what He has in store :D

Aussie has been quite an experience so far. Having to uproot myself from my comfort zone, away from family, church, friends... Sometimes worrying if I'd lose people like Missys and the Buddy etc along the way. And yet in Aussie, new prospects unfold. New plans & dreams. Plans to prosper and not to fail. A place where God's providence has been so evident. With Joanna miraculously appearing as my neighbour on the very 1st day in Aussie, a good church, OCF, new friends, etc. Every step of the way, meticulously taken care of.

2008 has been lollapaloozaish. I dont know how else to describe it. Working in Singtel, SPH, Alevel results, Uni Apps, "Exodus", Aussie.. yadd yadda. 2008 has been my greatest adventure yet. Ups and downs, highs and lows. But through it all, God has been faithful.

Even coming back this term, to be able to learn how to play the guitar in church has been such a blessing. I was just fiddling around with it one day in Melb and i got hooked. And I have been trying to google/youtube/ultimateguitar etc it to learn how to play the instrument. And the moment i come back TA-DAH THE CHURCH HAS GUITAR LESSONS. Thank You Lord :)

Just sent Nat off at the airport. And I'm also really thankful for that. To be able to spend the last few moments of 2008, and the start of 2009 with you. See you in 6 months :)

Still cant believe 2008 ended just like that. Everything happened so quickly this year I hardly had time to breathe. In any case, I'm looking forward to 2009.

Royce has moved into the back bedroom last night, thank God. its been a bit of a hard time these last few weeks. i got a knife on the bedroom door lock and managed to get the paint off so it works. i can lock it at night now, makes it a bit safer. i just dont know what he might do next, coming in, throwing things, spoiling things in the house. whats the point of trying to keep things nice? i keep my room clean, make my own meals when hes out. its like a pigsty down there.

i tried to clean it up after he'd pulled everything out of the kitchen cupboard and smashed it, but i cut my hand quite bad on a bit of glass from the sauce bottle, i think it was. i should have stitches really. its funny, i thought it was tomato sauce.

that night, i mend the door lock with one hand while my other hand was throbbing through the cloth, and i hear him hammering and sawing in the shed in the yard, like its been for days now into the night. but i dont care anymore about what he's doing. i dont care. i dont care if God doesnt want me to sy this, i wish he were dead. i wish he were dead.

However, what you discover are not the surroundings fit for a queen that you expected, but sensible chambers, adequately furnished and sparsely decorated.

In the foyer, a beautifully carved winding staircase, adorned with plush crimson carpet, beckons you to climb to the next level. You consider the steps, look back over your shoulder and decide, "Hey, the lower level's enough for me. Besides, I'm afraid of heights. I'll just stay down here where it's safe."

Unbeknownst to you, the upper levels house all the treasures intended to become your inheritance, and you're standing in the servants' quarters. Upstairs awaits a golden gilded ballroom, a chandeliered dining hall, four poster beds with down filled mattresses, a safe filled with enough gold and silver to last a lifetime, and a jewelry box brimming with family heirlooms.

We can move forward with confidence knowing that in whatever He calls us to do He will provide what we need. He doesn't necessarily call the qualified, but He qualifies the called. We are blessed with every spiritual blessing, joint-heirs with Christ, and given the Holy Spirit as a down payment - and that's only the start.
